Toronto, Ontario โ November 16, 2016 โ Northleaf Capital Partners has acquired a 16% equity stake in Antares Holdings from the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB). The transaction diversifies Antares' investor base and deepens its strategic relationships.
Northleaf and Antares will collaborate to develop separately managed accounts and other investment solutions tailored for Canadian asset managers, institutional investors, and private clients. Antares provides financing solutions for middle-market private equity-backed transactions, facilitating over $120 billion in financing over the past five years.
CPPIB, which remains Antares' largest shareholder, affirmed its continued commitment to the strategic investment. The board anticipates partnering with Northleaf to support the ongoing expansion of Antares' assets to meet growing global client demand.
Antares has prioritized the growth of its asset management business since becoming a standalone entity. The company states this will enable it to offer greater certainty to sponsors and borrowers, while expanding its menu of financing options.
