Nothing confirms layoffs, disputes market exit rumors as 'fake news'

Technology firm Nothing has confirmed it is undergoing staff layoffs and reorganizing its operations. The company has disputed recent reports suggesting it planned to "exit 12 markets as global shipments decline."

Nothing co-founder Akis Evangelidis stated that the reported numbers concerning staff reductions were "way overblown." He also refuted claims of underwhelming sales for the Nothing Phone 4B, stating that it "sold 29,537 units on Day 1 only, breaking records in its price segment."

Evangelidis further clarified that Nothing is not shutting down operations in any markets. Instead, the company is "consolidating" its operations into regional hubs. Additionally, Nothing plans to introduce a new "AI-native" business unit, signaling a strategic focus on artificial intelligence.

The company's restructuring comes amid rising component prices and shifts in the global market. Nothing aims to streamline its operations and adapt to future technological advancements.
