Nothing to release AI-focused hardware in December

Nothing, the company behind the Nothing Phone series, is set to introduce a new AI-focused product in December. CEO Carl Pei announced the upcoming release on social media, describing the device as a productivity tool.

Pei clarified that the device does not feature a screen and does not function as a mobile app. While the company has previously explored concepts such as AI-linked smart glasses and integrated earbuds, Pei stated that the upcoming product does not align with the industry's trend of developing pendants, pins, or other wearable AI accessories.

The announcement comes as hardware manufacturers compete to find a sustainable form factor for AI integration beyond the smartphone. Pei suggested that the company is taking a distinct approach to the technology, moving away from what he described as the industry’s search for a single, magical consumer device.

Further technical specifications and the formal release date remain undisclosed, but the company is expected to provide more information ahead of the December launch.
