Nova Biomedical Expands Cell Line Development Tools with NanoCellect Technology
Nova Biomedical has acquired certain assets from NanoCellect, a provider of microfluidic cell sorting technology, to enhance its cell line development offerings.
Nova Biomedical announced an asset transaction involving NanoCellect, a company specializing in microfluidic technology for cell sorting. This acquisition expands Nova Biomedical's capabilities to support cell line development and biopharmaceutical workflows from early research to production.
The acquired NanoCellect® WOLF G2® cell sorting platform utilizes microfluidics for cell selection and isolation. It complements Nova Biomedical's existing Solentim portfolio, which focuses on clonal generation, verification, and growth analysis. Together, these technologies offer a more integrated approach to cell line development, connecting cell selection, single-cell isolation, and reliable clone verification.
Nova Biomedical stated that this expansion is expected to reduce cell line development timelines and improve clone selection outcomes. It also establishes a more robust foundation for process development, scale-up, and manufacturing. The company's current portfolio includes analytical solutions for cell culture monitoring, such as metabolite analysis with BioProfile® FLEX2 and osmolality measurements with OsmoTECH®.
By incorporating NanoCellect's products, Nova Biomedical aims to provide a more cohesive suite of technologies. This strategy seeks to enhance continuity, insight, and decision-making throughout the entire bioprocessing cycle.
