Novartis terminates collaboration agreement with BioArctic
Novartis has decided to discontinue a joint research program with BioArctic that focused on integrating proprietary brain-targeting technology.

Novartis Pharma AG has notified BioArctic AB of its decision to terminate the license and collaboration agreement signed in August 2025. The partnership was established to develop a treatment combining BioArctics BrainTransporter technology with a proprietary Novartis antibody.
BioArctic stated that the termination follows a strategic decision by Novartis to discontinue the program entirely. The company noted that the decision was unrelated to the technical efficacy of the BrainTransporter platform.
As part of the terms, BioArctic will retain the initial $30 million payment received under the agreement. With the project now canceled, BioArctic shifts focus to its remaining research initiatives in the neurodegenerative disease space.
