Novartis has decided to discontinue a joint research program that aimed to combine BioArctic’s proprietary BrainTransporter technology with a Novartis antibody. BioArctic stated that the termination is based on a strategic decision by Novartis and is not related to the functionality of the BrainTransporter platform itself.

As part of the agreement's conclusion, BioArctic will retain the initial $30 million payment received in 2025, with the remaining unrecognized balance to be recorded as revenue for the 2026 fiscal year. The company retains full ownership of the BrainTransporter technology, which utilizes the transferrin receptor to assist drug delivery across the blood-brain barrier.

BioArctic currently maintains five other active partnerships utilizing this delivery platform. The company continues its broader focus on neurodegenerative disease therapies, including its high-profile work on the Alzheimer's drug Leqembi.
