NRW Minister President Thanks Malteser

Armin Laschet, Minister President of North Rhine-Westphalia, has expressed his gratitude to the Malteser organization in Germany for their work during the coronavirus pandemic. Laschet released a personal, three-minute video greeting in which he thanks the organization's members, supporters, and both volunteer and paid staff.

In the video, Laschet commends the Malteser organization's exemplary commitment to managing the COVID-19 crisis. He extends thanks not only to those on the front lines but also to those who have supported the efforts from behind the scenes through donations or other contributions, thereby helping to alleviate distress and worry.

Laschet emphasized that appreciating and supporting volunteer work within aid organizations is an important societal and political task. He noted that this was underscored during his meeting last autumn with the recently deceased Grand Master of the Order of Malta, Fra’ Giacomo Dalla Torre del Tempio di Sanguinetto.

The Malteser organization is a German branch of the international Catholic relief service that provides aid in areas such as healthcare, social services, and disaster relief.
