Nubank Refreshes Visual Identity Amid International Expansion
Brazilian digital bank Nubank has updated its visual branding to distinguish itself in a crowded fintech sector. The firm retained its signature purple color while introducing new typography and design assets.

Nubank, now operating internationally as Nu, has overhauled its visual identity to support its growth strategy, including a recent entry into the U.S. market. With a client base exceeding 140 million users across Brazil, Colombia, and Mexico, the company sought to refresh its branding as its signature purple color became increasingly common among fintech competitors.
The new visual system, developed by agency Koto, retains the primary purple hue but introduces a secondary color palette, whimsical illustrations, and a proprietary typeface called Nu Sans. According to management, the redesign aims to project a distinct global personality that reflects the company's internal culture rather than conforming to conventional U.S. financial branding standards.
Nubank launched in the United States in September via a partnership with Lead Bank. While the firm has secured high-profile marketing deals, such as a stadium naming rights agreement for Inter Miami and a partnership with the Mercedes F1 team, co-founder Cristina Junqueira maintains that product quality and customer support remain the company's primary focus.
