Nubia iMoochi AI pet robot launched in China
Nubia has officially launched its iMoochi AI companion robot in China. The device, priced at 1699 yuan, is designed to offer emotional support to urban dwellers.

Chinese technology firm Nubia has launched its iMoochi AI pet robot. The device officially went on sale on July 17, with a retail price of 1699 yuan (approximately $230).
iMoochi was initially presented at the 2026 Mobile World Congress by ZTE as an "emotional companion AI pet robot." It features a pet-like design and interactive capabilities, targeting urban individuals seeking companionship.
The robot is designed to respond to touch and care with movements like head shaking and tail wagging, accompanied by sounds. It develops a unique "personality" and behavioral patterns over time, including exhibiting "life-like" behaviors such as yawning or seeking interaction. Communication is through a custom "iMoochi language" created by voice actors to avoid the uncanny valley effect.
Available in three color options, the robot's eyes can display various patterns on an OLED screen. It incorporates multiple touch and motion sensors, offering a battery life of 8 to 10 hours on a single charge. A companion mobile app allows users to track its interactions and monitor its status.
