Nucor Reports $1.16 Billion Profit for Second Quarter 2026
Nucor Corporation posted net earnings of $1.16 billion, or $5.04 per diluted share, for the second quarter of 2026. This represents a significant increase compared to the same period in the previous year.

Nucor Corporation, a major U.S. steel producer, announced consolidated net earnings attributable to stockholders of $1.16 billion, or $5.04 per diluted share, for the second quarter of 2026. This figure marks a substantial increase from the $603 million, or $2.60 per diluted share, reported for the second quarter of 2025.
The company reported net sales of $10.40 billion for the quarter. Excluding a non-cash, pre-tax benefit of $61 million related to an investment in fusion energy company Helion, Nucor's adjusted net earnings were $1.11 billion, or $4.84 per diluted share.
"Investments across key sectors of the U.S. economy, combined with supportive federal trade policies, drove a second consecutive quarterly record for Nucor steel mill shipments," said Leon Topalian, Nucor's Chair and Chief Executive Officer. He credited the company's more than 33,000 employees for their contributions.
The steel mills segment saw improved earnings driven by higher average selling prices and volumes, while the steel products segment also benefited from increased volumes and stable pricing. The company anticipates higher consolidated earnings in the third quarter of 2026, forecasting increased earnings in both steel mills and steel products segments, though raw materials segment earnings are expected to decrease.
