Nvidia and KAIST to Invest $300M in AI Research Center

Nvidia and KAIST (Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology) have committed to a $300 million investment to establish a new artificial intelligence (AI) research center. The initiative is designed to accelerate AI research and development, fostering innovation in its applications.

The investment will support the creation of state-of-the-art research infrastructure and the recruitment of leading researchers and engineers. The center is expected to focus on areas such as deep learning, machine learning, and robotics, fields where Nvidia holds significant technological expertise.

KAIST, recognized as a premier science and technology institution in South Korea, will contribute its academic rigor and research capabilities. Nvidia’s role will involve providing substantial technological resources and expertise, particularly in AI-optimized computing.

This collaboration is anticipated to bolster South Korea’s standing in the global AI landscape and drive significant technological advancements. Operations at the new research center are slated to commence in 2024.
