Nvidia Expands DLSS 5 Support to Older GPUs
Nvidia will officially bring its DLSS 5 AI rendering technology to older RTX 40-series GPUs alongside the new RTX 50 series, the company confirmed. Previous plans indicated a more limited rollout.

Nvidia has revised its launch strategy for the DLSS 5 AI rendering technology, confirming wider compatibility than initially announced. The technology will now be available for older RTX 40-series graphics cards in addition to the upcoming RTX 50 series.
The change follows unofficial efforts by the modding community to bring a leaked version of DLSS 5 to a broader range of hardware. This demonstrated the technology's potential performance gains across various GPUs.
Previously, Nvidia had indicated that DLSS 5 would initially launch exclusively on the latest RTX 50 GPUs and support only a single game. The decision to expand support acknowledges the community's findings and broadens the user base for the new rendering features.
"Our current focus is on optimizing performance for the GeForce RTX 50 Series with model u...", stated a company spokesperson to The Verge. While the technology's reach is expanding, Nvidia has not granted gamers full control over the DLSS 5 settings, maintaining developer oversight on artistic implementation.
