Nvidia GeForce NOW Cloud Gaming Service Officially Released for Linux
Nvidia announced on August 13 that its GeForce NOW cloud gaming service has officially ended its beta testing phase for Linux and is now available to all users.

Nvidia announced on August 13 that the native Linux application for its GeForce NOW cloud gaming service has officially concluded its beta testing phase and is now released for all users.
The application was first introduced to the Linux platform in January 2026 as a beta version. Following several months of community feedback and optimization, the official version has now been launched.
The Linux client for GeForce NOW will continue to support Ubuntu 24.04 and newer versions. Nvidia has also introduced an official Flatpak software repository to simplify the installation and subsequent update process. Users can install the application directly via Nvidia's .bin installer or by adding the Flatpak repository.
In terms of performance, Nvidia has optimized its cloud-based DLSS Frame Generation technology to reduce latency and make game response more sensitive. These improvements are particularly noticeable when streaming at 1440p and 4K resolutions at 60 or 120 FPS. Additionally, Nvidia has implemented further server-side optimizations for GeForce NOW Performance members to enhance frame rates in certain CPU-intensive games.
