Nvidia in Talks to Invest in or Acquire AI Startup Reflection AI
Nvidia is reportedly in early discussions to either invest further in AI startup Reflection AI or acquire the company. The talks could lead to a full takeover or an acqui-hire.

Nvidia is reportedly in early-stage discussions to either increase its investment in AI startup Reflection AI or pursue an acquisition of the company. The ongoing talks may not result in a deal, and could potentially fall apart.
Reflection AI, founded in 2024 by former DeepMind researchers, focuses on developing artificial intelligence tools for software development. The company recently launched Beam, its first open-weight model, designed for coding and agent-based tasks.
The startup previously raised $2 billion in a Nvidia-backed funding round in October 2025, reaching a valuation of $8 billion. In April, CEO Misha Laskin stated that Reflection AI was seeking new capital at a pre-money valuation of $25 billion.
These discussions highlight the intensifying competition among major tech firms to secure access to cutting-edge AI technology and talent through strategic investments and acquisitions. Other AI development platforms, such as Cursor, have also attracted significant funding, underscoring the market's rapid evolution.
Nvidia has a history of strategic acquisitions in the AI sector, with its acquisition of Run:ai receiving regulatory approval in the European Union before its completion in December 2024.
