A shipment of Nvidia's upcoming GeForce RTX 5090 graphics cards, valued at approximately 2.5 million Brazilian reals (about $480,000 USD), has disappeared after arriving at São Paulo's Guarulhos International Airport in Brazil. The cargo was intended for Oderço, a distributor based in Maringá.
According to Oderço, two cargo pallets containing Zotac-branded products arrived at the airport terminal, but the shipment could not be located thereafter. The company's president, Odelsir Matos, stated that they are investigating the details of the incident and have yet to receive any information that could pinpoint the location of the missing goods. Matos noted that the distributor has been in the import business since 2008 and has never encountered a similar situation in over 38 years of operation.
Oderço has reportedly contacted various parties to investigate the whereabouts of the graphics cards and is seeking answers regarding the shipment's fate. The GeForce RTX 5090 is Nvidia's flagship card for its anticipated RTX 50 series, scheduled for release in January 2025. The cards are targeted at high-resolution gaming enthusiasts, graphics computing professionals, and users running demanding AI tasks, and are expected to carry a premium price due to their performance capabilities.
