Nvidia announced on July 21 the launch of its Spectrum-6 switch system, boasting a bandwidth of 102.4 Tbps. This represents a doubling of capacity compared to the previous generation and is designed for massive AI operations.

The Spectrum-6 system is now entering global hyperscale AI factories. Early adopters include prominent technology companies such as CoreWeave, Microsoft, Nebius, SpaceXAI, and Tesla, indicating significant industry interest in the new technology.

CoreWeave, Microsoft, and Nebius will be among the first to implement infrastructure utilizing Nvidia's Vera Rubin platform coupled with the Spectrum-6 system. This deployment aims to enhance access to the platform for developers, startups, and enterprise clients.

Min Jun, Director of Product Networking at CoreWeave, stated that the Spectrum-6 and its liquid-cooled Spectrum-X Ethernet infrastructure will provide the necessary bandwidth, resilience, and efficiency for training advanced AI models and accelerating deployment for inference tasks. The enhanced capabilities are crucial for handling the growing demands of complex AI workloads.
