Nvidia's DLSS 5 leaked, modders apply AI effects to various games

An unofficial version of Nvidia's upcoming DLSS 5 technology has leaked online, leading to modding communities integrating the AI upscaling technology into various games. Titles such as Skyrim, Cyberpunk 2077, GTA V, and Control are reportedly among those that have seen the DLSS 'Neural Rendering' file applied.

The leak originated from an early-access build of NBA 2K27, where code for the DLSS 5 technology was discovered. Members of the RenoDX modding group are said to have extracted the file and initially applied it to the game Control before expanding its use to other titles. This development has been noted by gaming media outlets like Notebook Check and VideoCardz.

Demonstrations shared online show how facial features in Control can become more or less defined as various DLSS 5 settings, enabled by the modders, are adjusted. This indicates the potential for AI to enhance visual elements within games.

While these are unofficial implementations and Nvidia has yet to officially announce or detail DLSS 5, the modders' actions highlight the rapid adoption and experimentation with new technologies within the gaming community. DLSS 5 is expected to offer significant advancements in performance and visual fidelity through AI processing.
