NYU Langone Health Named No. 1 Health System for Fifth Consecutive Year

NYU Langone Health has once again been recognized as the top-ranked health system in the United States by Vizient, Inc., marking the fifth consecutive year for this distinction. The organization is the first health system to achieve the No. 1 position in Vizient's Comprehensive Academic Medical Center category for five consecutive years.

The Vizient rankings, considered among the most closely watched in the healthcare industry, assess performance based on crucial quality and safety metrics. These include mortality and infection rates, patient experience scores, and other measures of care effectiveness and safety. NYU Langone's Manhattan campus led the Comprehensive Academic Medical Center cohort, comprising 122 institutions nationwide. Additionally, its network of over 400 ambulatory practices was named the nation's top physician practice network.

Individual hospitals within the system also received high marks. NYU Langone Hospital—Long Island ranked third, and NYU Langone Hospital—Brooklyn ranked sixth in Vizient's Large, Specialized Complex Care Medical Center cohort. NYU Langone Hospital—Suffolk placed 55th in the expanded Complex Care Medical Center category.

This repeated acknowledgment reinforces NYU Langone's standing as a leading healthcare provider in the U.S. The health system consistently receives accolades for its quality and safety from other respected rating agencies, including U.S. News & World Report and the Leapfrog Group.
