Oasis Management Seeks Board Shake-up at Vail Resorts

Oasis Management, which holds a 9.6% stake in Vail Resorts, has launched a campaign to replace board members ahead of the company's annual meeting on December 14, 2026. The investment firm is advocating for the election of Robert Chapek and M. Ashton Hudson, arguing that the resort operator requires new leadership to reverse a prolonged slump.

In a letter to shareholders, Oasis CIO Seth H. Fischer highlighted that Vail Resorts' stock has declined by over 50% in the last five years, erasing more than $8 billion in market value. The firm criticized the current leadership for a consistent failure to meet performance targets, citing three consecutive years of shrinking skier visits and frequent downward earnings guidance revisions.

Oasis argues that despite the company's strong brand and asset base, institutional management has failed to provide sustainable growth. The firm has launched a dedicated website, 'Lifting the Vail,' to outline its proposals for restoring shareholder value and improving the customer experience. The outcome of the December vote will test investor confidence in the current board’s long-term strategy.
