OCBC: Seniors' App Payment Transactions Up Nearly 60%
Singapore-based OCBC Bank reported that digital payment transactions via its app among customers aged 60 and above increased by nearly 60% in the 12 months ending June 30, 2026.

OCBC Bank, headquartered in Singapore, has reported a significant rise in digital payment activity among its senior customers. Internal data indicates that individuals aged 60 and older made nearly 60% more digital payment transactions through the bank's mobile application during the twelve months leading up to June 30, 2026.
The number of seniors utilizing the app for these payments saw an increase of almost 30% over the same period. Specifically, PayNow payments directed to e-commerce and livestream shopping platforms were 1.5 times higher than the previous year among this demographic.
This shift towards digital channels is attributed in part to the bank's SeniorCare program, which has conducted digital banking workshops and outreach initiatives. Since 2022, the program has engaged over 150,000 seniors across more than 180 events.
Cross-border transactions via the app's Scan & Pay feature also saw substantial growth, with QR payment transactions more than doubling. China accounted for nearly 80% of the value of these overseas payments, highlighting increased adoption for international commerce.
