OceanaGold Corporation announced that its President and Chief Executive Officer, Gerard Bond, intends to retire in April 2027. Bond, who joined OceanaGold in 2022, has led the company through a period of significant operational and financial improvements.

"Leading OceanaGold has been a privilege and the best and most enjoyable role of my career," Bond stated in a press release. He cited a substantial uplift in operational and financial performance, strengthened leadership, and advancements in growth opportunities as key achievements during his tenure. Bond will remain with the company as a Special Advisor to the Board and incoming CEO for six months post-retirement to ensure a smooth transition.

Paul Benson, Chairman of OceanaGold's Board of Directors, acknowledged Bond's contributions, particularly in transforming the company across its strategic pillars: maximizing production, building culture, cost-effective growth, financial strength, and investor relations. Benson highlighted the company's strong position and clear growth pipeline.

The Board has appointed an international search firm, Spencer Stuart, to assist in identifying internal and external candidates for the CEO position. OceanaGold stated it will keep the market informed of the progress regarding the leadership transition.
