The line, known for its sophisticated onboard atmosphere, stated the decision stems from consistent guest feedback favoring a tranquil environment. Oceania Cruises has historically not catered to families with children, lacking dedicated youth programs or facilities. This move formalizes the existing appeal to mature travelers seeking a refined cruising experience.
Existing bookings made prior to January 7, 2026, that include guests under 18 will be honored as booked. The company's upcoming ship, Oceania Sonata, scheduled to debut in August 2027, will be the first vessel to operate under the adults-only mandate from its inaugural voyage, representing the future of luxury onboard for the line.
