OCIANA completes operational validation for port logistics platform
OCIANA has concluded a key validation phase for its digital platform aimed at streamlining port operations and reducing maritime emissions through real-time data integration.

OCIANA has announced the completion of an operational validation test (OVT) for its unified digital platform, designed to facilitate real-time coordination between shipping lines and port authorities. The technology replaces legacy communication methods, such as manual spreadsheets and email, with a centralized system.
The project, developed in partnership with entities including Canada Steamship Lines and the Montreal Port Authority, provides a command center for scheduling, booking, and pre-arrival notifications. By centralizing data, the system aims to enable 'just-in-time' (JIT) arrivals, which significantly reduce fuel consumption and environmental impact.
CEO Richard Kolacz stated that the validation confirms the platform’s ability to integrate with existing infrastructure, offering a single source of truth for all stakeholders. The system also introduces full auditability, recording all modifications and confirmations to reduce coordination disputes.
Moving forward, OCIANA plans to continue developing the platform based on operational feedback. Future updates will focus on specialized interfaces for ship captains and further refinement of the JIT arrival tools to support broader maritime supply chain efficiency.
