OCUDU Ecosystem Foundation Releases OCUDU 26.10 with Satellite Connectivity
The OCUDU Ecosystem Foundation has released OCUDU 26.10, enhancing its open-source RAN software with satellite connectivity and new 5G capabilities for improved network performance and flexibility.
The OCUDU Ecosystem Foundation has launched OCUDU 26.10, the latest version of its open-source software for Centralized Unit (CU) and Distributed Unit (DU) in radio access networks (RAN).
The release focuses on expanding network performance, deployment flexibility, positioning, and security for open-source RAN software. Key additions include the integration of satellite connectivity and enhanced 5G functionalities, aiming to broaden the software's applicability.
These advancements are designed to support network deployments in areas with limited or no terrestrial mobile coverage, potentially serving remote regions or disaster recovery scenarios. The move aligns with industry trends towards open standards and disaggregated network components.
The foundation anticipates showcasing these new capabilities and discussing their implications for the open-source RAN ecosystem at the upcoming OCUDU Ecosystem Developer Summit, scheduled for October 20-22 near Washington, D.C.
