Ola Electric Receives ₹95.81 Cr Incentive Under PLI-Auto Scheme
Electric two-wheeler maker Ola Electric has secured ₹95.81 crore in incentives from the government's Production Linked Incentive (PLI)-Auto scheme. This marks the third consecutive year the company has received this financial support.

Ola Electric, a manufacturer of electric two-wheelers, has been awarded ₹95.81 crore (approximately $11.5 million USD) under the Indian government's Production Linked Incentive (PLI)-Auto scheme. The incentive, provided by the Ministry of Heavy Industries, aims to boost domestic manufacturing of advanced automotive technology (AAT) products.
This is the third consecutive year Ola Electric has received funding under the PLI-Auto scheme. The company previously received ₹73.74 crore for FY24 in March 2025 and ₹366.78 crore for FY25 in December 2025. These incentives come amidst a reported decline in sales for the company.
In July, Ola Electric's vehicle registrations fell 20% to 13,085 units from 16,249 units in June, reducing its market share to approximately 7%. Despite the sales dip, the company launched its new S1Z e-scooter range, featuring locally developed battery technology.
The company is also pursuing up to ₹7,240 crore in incentives under the PLI scheme for advanced chemistry cells (ACC) through its subsidiary, Ola Cell Technologies Pvt Ltd. Ola Electric is also expanding into the energy storage sector, recently launching new battery energy storage systems (BESS).
