Olmed Warns of Harmful 'Princess Pearls'

OLMED Spolka z ograniczona odpowiedzialnoscia Sp. K., a Polish pharmacy chain, has issued a warning about products known as 'Princess Pearls', also referred to as 'guifei bao' or Chinese herbal tampons. These products are often marketed with claims of treating intimate infections, inflammations, cervical erosions, and discharge.

Manufacturers suggest that 'Princess Pearls' can also aid with irregular menstrual cycles and act as antibacterial and antifungal agents. The composition of these products relies on ingredients from Traditional Chinese Medicine, including substances like acacia catechu, aloe vera, rhubarb root, and bornean camphor.

However, Olmed emphasizes that the use of these products carries significant risks and can be harmful. The pharmacy chain does not recommend their use and has disseminated information about their potential dangers through its website and physical stores to raise consumer awareness.

Through its online platform and retail locations, Olmed aims to provide reliable health information and a range of pharmaceutical products, contributing to public health education and access to healthcare.
