Oma's Pride Recalls Dog Food Over Salmonella Contamination

Oma's Pride, a raw pet food brand based in Avon, Connecticut, has issued a voluntary recall for 639 bags of its Woof Complete Canine Chicken Recipe after salmonella contamination was detected. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) confirmed the contamination following a consumer complaint and subsequent testing.

The company is currently investigating the source of the contamination. Three dogs have reportedly fallen ill after consuming the product. The FDA also issued a warning that humans can contract salmonella infections from handling the contaminated food, urging consumers to stop using the product immediately and to thoroughly clean and sanitize pet bowls and utensils.

The recall affects 6-pound bags of Woof Complete Canine Chicken Recipe with a production date of January 2026 and a best-by date of January 2029, identified by UPC code 8 7938400145 9. The affected product was distributed between February and May 2026 to several states, including Arizona, California, and New York.

Oma's Pride is offering refunds for the recalled product. Symptoms of salmonella infection in dogs include lethargy, diarrhea, fever, and decreased appetite. Humans can also experience similar gastrointestinal symptoms.
