OmaSp and Finnish Hockey Players' Association Launch National Cooperation

Oma Säästöpankki Oyj (OmaSp) has initiated a nationwide cooperation with the Finnish Hockey Players' Association (SJRY). The agreement, covering the 2026–2027 season, aims to provide banking services specifically for hockey players and their families, taking into account the unique aspects of an athlete's career and preparation for life after sports.

Through this partnership, OmaSp will assign dedicated local banking contacts to SJRY members. These contacts will assist players with everyday financial matters, financing needs, and savings and investment solutions. The objective is to streamline financial management for athletes facing variable circumstances, such as fixed-term contracts and relocation.

Tiia Matikkala, branch manager at OmaSp, emphasized the bank's commitment to providing tangible benefits and expertise through collaborations. Kami Kortelainen, consultant at SJRY, noted that players' careers are often limited in duration, making expert financial planning support crucial. The collaboration is expected to enhance the financial well-being of players both during and after their playing careers.

The Finnish Hockey Players' Association, established in 1973, works to improve the status and recognition of hockey players. The association supports its members in professional, societal, and athletic matters, as well as in preparing for post-career life. The partnership is built on shared values focused on customer and member-centric approaches.
