Omdia: Large OLED Panel Shipments to Grow 18.8% in 2026
Market research firm Omdia forecasts that shipments of large-area OLED panels (10 inches and above) will increase by 18.8% year-over-year in 2026, outpacing a projected decline in the overall large-area display panel market.

Market research firm Omdia has predicted that shipments of large-area OLED display panels, defined as 10 inches and above, will reach approximately 38.8 million units in 2026. This represents an 18.8% year-over-year increase, occurring even as the broader market for large-area display panels is expected to contract by 2.3%.
The firm cited factors such as rising component prices, geopolitical tensions, and growing economic uncertainty as reasons for weakened demand in the large-area display panel market, particularly in the latter half of 2026. Shipments of large LCD panels are forecast to decline by 3.0% to 879.1 million units, with the overall market value shrinking by 1.7% to $69.9 billion.
The projected growth in large-area OLEDs is significantly driven by demand for notebook computers and monitors. Omdia anticipates that shipments of OLED displays for notebook PCs and monitors will see substantial year-over-year increases of 66.0% and 34.0%, respectively. This growth is partly attributed to South Korean manufacturers reallocating production capacity from TV panels to those for monitors and notebooks.
Despite an expected overall decline in shipments for monitors (-1.8%), notebook PCs (-0.6%), and tablet displays (-3.8%) in 2026, the resilience and growth forecast for large-area OLEDs in specific applications highlight the technology's increasing adoption and competitive position.
