MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. – Omnissa has launched Omnissa Elara, a new solution designed to help IT and security teams manage artificial intelligence (AI) actions within enterprise environments. The platform aims to provide organizations with enhanced visibility and control over AI-driven operations and decision-making.
The solution consolidates information from various systems, including AI applications, models, and agents, offering IT leadership a comprehensive understanding of how digital tools are utilized. This enables the application of policies and controls based on the company's broader business context, which is increasingly crucial in the rapidly evolving AI landscape.
Omnissa's research indicates that 75% of enterprise-managed devices have been found to host unsanctioned AI tools, highlighting the need for more robust governance. Elara is designed to operate above existing systems, connecting tools without requiring standardization of the entire technology stack. It gathers data on users, identities, devices, applications, and AI, correlating it with the organization's policies and permission structures.
Elara offers several features, including the detection of "shadow AI," the establishment of AI usage guardrails through the Omnissa AI Gateway, and change control for high-impact actions. Additionally, the solution logs the complete decision chain in real-time for audit purposes.
