Omron spins off business unit, renames it Aratas Corporation

Kyoto – Omron Corporation announced on July 1, 2026, that its Device & Module Solutions Business (DMB) has been officially separated into a new company. The successor company, previously named Omron Device Solutions Co., Ltd., has been renamed Aratas Corporation.

The spin-off is part of a broader transaction where Omron plans to sell all shares of Aratas Corporation to an entity established by The Carlyle Group. This sale is expected to be completed by October 1, 2026.

The name Aratas, derived from the Japanese words for 'new' and 'tomorrow,' signifies the company's aspiration to forge new paths with customers worldwide. Omron stated it will continue to support Aratas' development even after the ownership transfer.

Founded in 1933, Omron Corporation is a global leader in automation, offering products and services in over 130 countries. Its business spans control equipment, healthcare, social systems, and electronic components.
