Omron Splits Device & Module Solutions Business into Aratas Corporation

OMRON Corporation confirmed on July 1, 2026, that its Device & Module Solutions Business (DMB) has officially transitioned to a new entity named Aratas Corporation. This change follows an absorption-type company split where the business was transferred to a newly established subsidiary, which has now been renamed.

The transition is part of a larger transaction involving The Carlyle Group, which plans to acquire all shares of the succeeding company, Aratas Corporation, by October 1, 2026. OMRON stated it will continue to support Aratas Corporation during this transition period to ensure stable and sustainable growth.

The name Aratas is derived from the Japanese words "Aratana" (new) and "Asu" (tomorrow), signifying the company's ambition to create a new future for society. Headquartered in Kyoto, Aratas Corporation focuses on manufacturing and selling electronic components and electrical machinery.

OMRON Corporation will continue its operations in areas such as industrial automation, healthcare, and social systems, leveraging its core "Sensing & Control + Think" technology to drive innovation and meet global customer needs.
