OneUnited Bank Partners with Big Brothers Big Sisters for Youth Financial Literacy Contest

OneUnited Bank, a Community Development Financial Institution, is partnering with Big Brothers Big Sisters of America for the 16th annual "I Got Bank!" National Financial Literacy Contest. The program aims to promote financial education among children aged 8 to 12 across the United States.

The contest invites children to read a financial literacy book of their choice and submit either a 250-word essay or an art project demonstrating how they would apply the book's lessons to their lives. An "I Got Bank" e-book is available for free from the bank.

Ten winners will be selected and awarded a $1,000 savings account at OneUnited Bank. Submissions are due by November 20, 2026, with winners announced by December 29, 2026. The bank has been a proponent of financial literacy, particularly for urban youth.

This collaboration underscores a shared commitment to empowering young people with financial knowledge. The initiative addresses a recognized gap in financial literacy resources for youth, fostering confidence and a long-term vision for economic independence.
