Oneworld Adds Ushuaia and Crete to Network
The airline alliance oneworld is expanding its network with the addition of Ushuaia, Argentina, and Crete, Greece. New services are scheduled to commence in late November and December.

The oneworld airline alliance is adding Ushuaia, Argentina, and Crete, Greece, to its global network. Ushuaia, located at the southern tip of South America, will be served by LAN starting December 1, making oneworld the sole global alliance with a presence in the city.
Crete will be accessible through GB Airways, operating as a British Airways franchisee, with new routes from London Gatwick commencing in May. These will be the first scheduled flights connecting the island to the UK. Other new destinations launching in early November include Tbilisi, Georgia, via British Mediterranian, and Pensacola, Florida, via American Eagle.
Further expansions include Fez, Morocco, starting November 2, and the addition of Thessaloniki, Greece, and Split, Croatia, in March of the following year, both served by British Airways. These new routes supplement oneworld's existing network of over 575 destinations.
In conjunction with these network additions, oneworld has launched its first global frequent flyer promotion in five years. The campaign offers members the chance to earn up to 15,000 bonus miles by traveling on at least three alliance carriers during October and November.
Additionally, Cathay Pacific has opened a new lounge at London Heathrow Terminal 3, and Finnair has introduced a mobile phone text message check-in service, a first in the industry.
