Oneworld Airline Alliance Overhauls Services for 20th Anniversary
The global airline alliance oneworld is marking its 20th anniversary with major updates for customers and member airlines. Key announcements include digital enhancements and network expansion.

The global airline alliance oneworld is undergoing a significant transformation as it celebrates its 20th anniversary, introducing new benefits aimed at enhancing customer experience and increasing value for its member airlines.
A core component of these changes is the introduction of a new digital platform. This will allow passengers on connecting flights across multiple oneworld airlines to check-in, obtain boarding passes, track baggage, and receive flight updates through their preferred airline's app or website, without needing additional downloads or logins. This feature will be progressively rolled out starting this year.
Furthermore, oneworld plans to expand its network of branded and managed airport lounges at key hubs worldwide. These lounges are intended to offer improved service and more spacious environments for travelers, with the first oneworld-branded lounge slated for unveiling later this year.
The alliance is also broadening its global reach. Royal Air Maroc is set to join as a full member in 2020, and Fiji Airways will become the first oneworld connect partner with full implementation in February 2019. These additions will increase oneworld's network to 1,100 destinations across 180 territories. Corporate sales processes have also been streamlined for faster responses and contract agreements.
