Oneworld Opens First European Lounge In Amsterdam
Airline alliance Oneworld has launched its first fully branded European lounge at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. The new space provides travelers with a comfortable environment before their flights.
The Oneworld airline alliance officially opened its first fully branded European lounge at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol on Thursday, February 22, 2024. This new facility follows the alliance's inaugural premium lounge launch at Incheon International Airport in Seoul earlier this year.
The Oneworld Lounge, developed in partnership with ASPIRE, is situated in the airport's non-Schengen departure area. The 473-square-meter lounge offers a spacious and bright setting for passengers to relax and refresh before their journeys. Design elements within the lounge draw inspiration from Amsterdam, including lighting fixtures reminiscent of the city's canal bridge lights.
Opened during the alliance's 25th anniversary year, the lounge is located within a short distance of member airlines' departure gates. It will serve all eligible Oneworld customers departing on international flights outside the Schengen area. Eight Oneworld member airlines, including American Airlines, British Airways, Finnair, and Qatar Airways, operate services to Amsterdam.
The Oneworld alliance connects over 900 destinations worldwide, with member airlines operating more than 200 weekly flights to and from Amsterdam. The lounge's opening aims to strengthen the alliance's presence at Schiphol and enhance the travel experience for its passengers.
