Oneworld Simplifies Digital Check-in for Multi-Carrier Journeys
The Oneworld airline alliance has launched a new digital check-in feature across all member carriers, allowing passengers to scan passports and receive mobile boarding passes.

The Oneworld airline alliance has introduced a new digital check-in solution, now available across all its member carriers globally. The technology enables passengers to scan their passports, receive boarding passes, and save them directly to their digital wallet. This enhancement applies to all operating carriers within a passenger's itinerary, regardless of the initial operating airline.
The new functionality is powered by Oneworld's proprietary technology, facilitating communication between different member airline systems via a shared digital platform. The aim is to provide a seamless and consistent experience for travellers on multi-carrier journeys.
"Customers expect a consistent, easy-to-use experience with their preferred airline's check-in tools, and they should expect the same when flying on their alliance partners," said Ole Orver, CEO of the Oneworld Alliance. He emphasized the alliance's commitment to providing this technology across every member airline to put journey management at customers' fingertips.
Future phases of the system will include the ability to check in for codeshare itineraries and offer dynamic, up-to-the-minute boarding passes. Oneworld states this is the first time an alliance has offered digital check-in across all member airline pairings, underscoring its focus on improving the global travel experience.
