OnlyFans Expands Business Tools for Content Creators

OnlyFans has paid out $30 billion to its creators over the last 10 years. While the platform remains associated with adult content, it is actively expanding its offerings to support a wider range of creators in building businesses around their content.

The London-based company now attracts diverse creators, including comedians, athletes, celebrities, chefs, and business experts. CEO Kelly Blair described the platform as "Shopify for content," providing tools for both established and emerging creators.

Examples of this diversification include the OnlyMarms research account, which uses the platform to raise funds for wildlife documentation. "OnlyFans has always been about challenging perceptions," Blair stated at the Fast Company Innovation Festival. The company has also launched OFTV, a streaming service for work-safe content, and plans to enter the financial services sector to support its creator community.

Blair acknowledged that the platform is not for everyone but is particularly suited for individuals who treat their content as a business and aim to grow their personal brand. "You do have to have... a certain boldness to be able to be on OnlyFans," she said.
