ONLYOFFICE 10.0 Adds AI Tools and Modular Applications to Open Source Suite

ONLYOFFICE has launched version 10.0 of its open-source office suite, bringing AI tools directly into its document, spreadsheet, and presentation editors. The update also introduces new modular applications and significant security enhancements.

The new AI functionalities allow users to draft, summarize, translate, and format documents, spreadsheets, and presentations without leaving the application. The company states that AI can assist legal teams in summarizing contracts or analysts in creating forecasts. Organizations can choose different AI models based on their needs, with cloud deployments integrating via OpenRouter and server versions supporting local model connections for data security.

Four new modular applications have been added to complement the ONLYOFFICE Docs suite. These include AI agents for workspace automation, a forms application for streamlining data collection and analysis, a Files app for document storage and access control, and a Rooms app for secure collaboration, particularly for confidential content.

Version 10.0 also brings numerous improvements to the editors. The PDF editor now supports metadata removal and automatic table recognition. In the document editor, co-authors can see each other's cursors in real-time. Spreadsheet functionalities have been optimized for faster performance, and the presentation editor features new viewing modes and export options to GIF and video formats. The software also addresses 35 security vulnerabilities.
