Ontario Invests $1.7 Million in Piramal Pharma's Aurora Facility
The Ontario government is investing $1.7 million in Piramal Pharma Solutions' Aurora, Canada facility. The funding aims to advance life sciences innovation and create new jobs.

The Ontario government has awarded Piramal Pharma Solutions (PPS) an investment of $1.75 million for its drug substance facility located in Aurora, Canada. This funding, provided through the Life Sciences Scale-Up Fund, is part of a larger $5.3 million initiative to upgrade the site's infrastructure.
The project is intended to enhance Piramal's manufacturing capabilities and support the commercialization of healthcare technologies developed in Ontario for new markets. The investment will drive research and development and clinical API production, ensuring the availability of critical drug substances.
The investment also contributes to job creation and the preservation of existing positions. The project is expected to create 12 new jobs and secure 183 existing roles, strengthening Ontario's position as a global hub for life sciences and pharmaceutical manufacturing.
Ontario's government is committed to supporting the life sciences sector, and this investment in Piramal is part of a broader strategy to foster healthcare innovation and improve the province's competitiveness. The Life Sciences Scale-Up Fund, launched earlier this year, is part of Ontario's life sciences strategy, with additional funding allocated to accelerate the adoption of innovative technologies.
