onX Hunt Expands Safety and Navigation Tools for Hunting Season

MISSOULA, Mont. – onX Hunt has introduced expanded safety and navigation tools for the upcoming hunting season. The updates include Location Sharing, offline onX Navigation, and onX SOS, a new emergency response add-on aimed at improving hunter connectivity and preparedness, particularly in areas with limited or no cellular service.

The Location Sharing feature allows hunting parties to view each other's live locations on a single map. A paid onX Hunt member can initiate or join a session and invite up to nine others, facilitating group coordination and regrouping. While the feature requires a data connection, it pins the last known location if service is lost.

Offline onX Navigation addresses the challenge of navigating in areas without cell service, which onX Hunt notes affects approximately 28% of U.S. land area. The app enables on-device route calculation and rerouting using downloaded Offline Maps, providing turn-by-turn directions even without a network connection.

The onX SOS feature, an optional $49.99 annual add-on, provides professional emergency assistance. It connects subscribers with a trained coordinator and offers coverage for eligible rescue and evacuation costs. When activated, the app sends the user's GPS coordinates and account information to Overwatch x Rescue, which manages the response and coordinates aid.
