Opella and World Allergy Organization launch five-year allergy care partnership
Opella and the World Allergy Organization (WAO) have announced a five-year global partnership aimed at improving the recognition and management of allergic diseases in everyday care settings.
Opella, a global consumer healthcare company, and the World Allergy Organization (WAO) have launched a five-year global partnership to enhance the recognition and management of allergic diseases in routine healthcare settings worldwide. The collaboration will run from 2027 through 2031.
The partnership aims to combine WAO's global network of allergy societies' expertise with Opella's scientific knowledge and self-care leadership. It will support general practitioners, pediatricians, pharmacists, nurses, and primary care teams who frequently manage allergic conditions.
The announcement was made at the 32nd World Allergy Congress (WAC) in Kyoto, Japan, where the organizations also unveiled the inaugural WAO-Opella Award for Innovative Solutions in Everyday Allergy Care. A joint 'Self-care in Allergy Report' is also planned for release in December.
A key objective of the collaboration is to drive earlier recognition of allergic disease, support best practices in management, and highlight innovative approaches that improve patient outcomes in primary care. The new award, focusing on care for children and adolescents, will open for entries in January 2027.
