Mexico City – On September 18, 2026, Opella (Sanofi-Aventis de México S.A. de C.V.) confirmed the existence of a counterfeit version of its Buscapina Compositum® product. The company stated that the safety of individuals using its products is its utmost priority.

The identified falsified product is Buscapina Compositum® tablets, specifically batch EMXA093, with an expiry date of December 2027. The packaging described is a carton containing 36 tablets in a blister pack. Opella clarified that batch number EMXA093 does not exist within the official records of Sanofi Aventis de México, S.A. de C.V.

Opella urges consumers not to use the counterfeit product. The company also reiterated the importance of purchasing medications exclusively from establishments authorized by COFEPRIS to ensure legal compliance and consumer safety.
