Pharmaceutical company Opella celebrated 60 years of operation at its Compiègne, France facility on April 17, 2026. The company inaugurated new production lines and environmental protection investments.

FRANCE, Compiègne – Opella, a pharmaceutical company, marked its 60th anniversary at its Compiègne facility on April 17, 2026. The event featured the inauguration of new production lines and highlighted the company's commitment to French industrial sovereignty.
A new granulation line was opened to support the growing demand for Opella's product portfolio, including its allergy medication Allegra (known as Allervi in France). This strategic investment aims to increase production for both domestic and international markets and reduce reliance on contract manufacturers.
The anniversary also saw the launch of significant environmental upgrades. These include a two-kilometer flood defense dike to protect the site against 100-year floods, a water retention basin with new alluvial forest and wetland vegetation, and a parking area equipped with photovoltaic canopies generating 8% of the site's electricity needs.
Company officials stated the new facilities underscore Opella's growth strategy and modernization efforts. Regional president Xavier Bertrand praised the investments, noting their importance for French industry, job creation, and national health sovereignty.
