Opella renews B Corp certification under stricter standards
Opella, a global consumer health company, has renewed its B Corp certification according to B Lab's new, more rigorous standards. This reaffirms the company's commitment to sustainability.
Neuilly-sur-Seine – Global consumer health company Opella has successfully renewed its worldwide B Corporation™ certification. The recertification was conducted under B Lab's new, more demanding V2 standards, extending Opella's leadership established in April 2025 as the first global consumer health company to achieve B Corp status.
B Lab's new global standards require companies to implement concrete measures across seven key impact areas. Performance is verified through independent assessments on a five-year recertification cycle. For Opella, this certification serves as third-party validation of its integration of sustainability into its operations, demonstrating a responsible business model attuned to stakeholders, the planet, and economic performance.
"When we achieved our first certification, we stated it was only the beginning. This recertification under B Lab’s more demanding new standards illustrates that," said Marissa Saretsky, Chief Sustainability Officer at Opella.
Opella's sustainability strategy, "Health3," includes net-zero targets validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). The company aims for an absolute reduction of 58.8% in greenhouse gas emissions by 2034 and a 90% reduction by 2050, compared to a 2023 baseline.
