Opella's Net-Zero Targets Validated by SBTi
Opella announced on November 4, 2025, that the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) has validated its short- and long-term emissions reduction targets. These goals align with the Paris Agreement.

Opella announced on November 4, 2025, that its emissions reduction targets have been officially validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). This validation confirms that Opella's climate strategy is aligned with the global +1.5°C trajectory and the ambitions of the Paris Agreement. The company commits to achieving net-zero carbon emissions across its operations and value chain by 2050.
The validation signifies that Opella's goals meet the Corporate Net-Zero Standard, the first and only global framework for companies to set science-based net-zero targets. Opella is now positioned as the first global consumer health company to hold both B Corp certification and SBTi-approved net-zero commitments, reflecting its dedication to combining scientific rigor with social and environmental responsibility.
Opella aims to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions by 58.8% across scopes 1, 2, and 3 by 2034 and by 90% by 2050, compared to a 2023 baseline. The company emphasizes deep decarbonization over offsetting. Achieving these targets involves transforming production and sourcing, including increased use of low-carbon raw materials, eco-design of packaging, 100% renewable electricity, and close collaboration with suppliers to adopt science-based targets.
