Opella's Net-Zero Targets Validated by SBTi
Opella has received validation from the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) for its near- and long-term emissions reduction targets. The company commits to reaching net-zero carbon emissions by 2050.

Paris, France – November 4, 2025 – Consumer healthcare company Opella announced today that the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) has officially validated its near- and long-term emissions reduction targets. This validation confirms Opella's climate strategy aligns with the global 1.5°C pathway and the Paris Agreement.
The company commits to reaching net-zero carbon emissions across its operations and value chain by 2050. Opella is the first pure-play global consumer healthcare company to have obtained both B Corp certification and SBTi approval for its net-zero commitments.
From a 2023 baseline, Opella commits to a 58.8% reduction in carbon emissions across Scopes 1, 2, and 3 by 2034, and a 90% absolute reduction by 2050. These targets address emissions across the company's operations and value chain, prioritizing deep decarbonization efforts over reliance on offsets.
Achieving these goals will require transforming Opella's business practices, including sourcing low-carbon raw materials, redesigning packaging, and shifting to 100% renewable electricity. The company will report on its progress annually and review its climate targets regularly to ensure continued alignment with evolving climate science.
