Opemipo Fajana-Kehinde: From Pharmacy Studies to Tech Leadership at Nordea

Opemipo Fajana-Kehinde's professional journey began with pharmacy studies before she returned to her initial passion for computer science. This pivot led her to a career that has taken her from Nigeria to Sweden and Finland, driven by a curiosity about how technology can improve lives.

Currently, Fajana-Kehinde serves as a Senior Project Lead, Scrum Master, and End-to-End Execution Lead within Nordea's Group Technology. Her responsibilities include managing compliance projects and coordinating cross-team deliveries, leveraging her technical understanding, business acumen, and ability to unite people towards shared objectives.

Before joining Nordea, Fajana-Kehinde gained experience in software development, fintech, and quantum computing. She emphasizes that technology alone does not create value; it is the people who understand business problems, manage risks, and prioritize customer needs who drive successful outcomes.

At Nordea, she has developed a deeper appreciation for the scale and complexity of technology delivery in banking, where regulatory demands, evolving priorities, and customer expectations must be balanced. She finds satisfaction in guiding teams through these challenges to deliver value.

Fajana-Kehinde actively pursues learning through various resources, including Agile SAFe training and leadership programs. She also acts as a Nordea Ambassador in Finland, engaging with university students to share her experiences in technology and promote diversity.
