OpenAI Accuses Ex-Employee of Stealing Product Plans for Apple

AI research firm OpenAI has accused a former employee of taking more than 100 files related to its product plans prior to joining Apple. The allegations were detailed in a legal filing made on Wednesday.

According to OpenAI, the unnamed former employee transferred the sensitive data to a personal account and subsequently presented it to Apple executives. This move allegedly includes presenting information to the vice president overseeing Apple's operations in Asia. Reuters was the first to report on the filing.

The legal action centers on trade secrets, with OpenAI accusing the ex-employee and Apple of misappropriating proprietary information. The files in question reportedly include images of at least one unreleased device, supplier details, and engineering project data.

OpenAI seeks legal recourse to prevent the further use or dissemination of this alleged stolen intellectual property. Apple has not yet publicly commented on the specific allegations.
