OpenAI has introduced a new ChatGPT Admin plugin designed for ChatGPT Work and Codex. This tool enables workspace administrators to manage users and permissions, analyze usage patterns, and generate reports directly through conversations within ChatGPT.

The new plugin allows administrators to perform daily management tasks, including monitoring product adoption and usage. They can review activity data and quota consumption to identify teams needing further support and anticipate when users or teams are approaching their quota limits.

The Admin plugin also facilitates the management of members and groups, allowing for the addition or removal of users and adjustment of group settings. Permissions management is another key feature, where administrators can inspect users' actual permissions, troubleshoot access issues, and control access to specific features or models based on roles or groups.

Furthermore, the plugin supports the management of usage quotas and consumption requests. Administrators can set quota limits for individuals, groups, and entire workspaces, as well as review and approve or reject requests based on current usage and complete context. OpenAI highlights that the plugin automates repetitive administrative processes and expands management capabilities within existing permission frameworks.

The ChatGPT Admin plugin is now available in the plugin directory for ChatGPT Work and can be accessed directly by administrators.
